1. Preparation
- Ensure you’re familiar with the renewal process and requirements.

2. Gather Necessary Documents & Forms
Required Documents:
a. Application Form:
- Application for Renewal of Traffic Violator School (TVS) Instructor License (OL 740)
b. Examination or Continuous Education:
- If you have not passed the TVS operator examination: Provide a certificate of completion for a department-approved 18-hour continuous education program.
- If you have passed the TVS operator examination: You are exempt from the instructor examination.
3. Submit Application and Documents Online
- Log in to the DMV website.
- Navigate to the TVS Instructor License renewal section.
- Upload the completed OL 740 form.
- If applicable, upload the certificate of completion for the 18-hour continuous education program.
- Pay the associated fees online.
4. Fees
- $50 renewal application fee.
- $1 Family Support Program fee.
